The election is over but the drama is not

After what felt like the longest week ever, we finally have an election winner: President-elect Joe Biden. But that doesn’t mean the drama has ceased. President Trump refuses to accept the election result and his supporters don’t, either. All I need to do is look at my Facebook newsfeed for proof: Memes, viral tweets and conspiracy theories abound.
For family members on opposite sides of the political spectrum, there appears to be no healing in sight. The damage is done, both Republicans and Democrats told Senior Reporter Brittany Wong. “These are not political issues, they are human issues, and they’ve caused all of us to look more closely at the people in our lives,” therapist Deborah Duley said. “That’s really what the last four years has been for us: an enlightenment, an awakening, a reassessment of who we allow in our mental and emotional space.”
Is there a way to move forward? Here’s what the experts have to say.
