Kate’s Cones

The FAB-ulous exhibition of Kates Cones continues in the gallery this week. Stop by and savour the delectable Lolly Parton, Elton John-inspired Rocket Man, and wooly Mr Whippys fresh from the knitting needles of internationally acclaimed textile artist Kate Jenkins. Don’t miss the last chance to meet Kate at the knitted ice cream counter on Saturday 2nd July, where she’ll be taking orders for bespoke ice-creams. Create your own combination of crocheted ice-cream ball in raspberry sewbet, mint choc knit, or pistitchio, with a waffle cone and sprinkles, and finish it all off with a cherry on the top. Collage and Print - Mary Dalton

This Friday, join professional artist and printmaker Mary Daltonfor a full day of collage and printmaking in our classroom beside the sea. Let your creativity roam free as you create your own papers and combine them with collage and printmaking to make richly layered artworks. Mary has a wealth of experience as an artist and teacher, with her own work pushing printmaking into the realm of sculpture, installation and performance. Whether you’re an accomplished printmaker or an absolute beginner, everyone will benefit from this full-day exploration of paper and print.

New in the gallery shop this week are some exquisite blown-glass vessels from the studio of Catriona Mackenzie. Jewell-toned and cut glass bottles are inspired in part by the mycology, the shape and forms of fungi.
