Nuclear Deal with Iran

An IDF military helicopter crashed off the coast of Haifa this week after attempting a failed emergency landing. The preliminary investigation reveals a sudden fire in the left engine sent the spiraling chopper into the sea. Captain Ron Birman, the only passenger aboard who survived the helicopter crash with moderate injuries, courageously attempted to save the two-man pilot crew as it sank in choppy waters. Sadly, the two crew members were killed and have been identified as 38-year-old Lt.-Col. Erez Sahiyani of Ramat David, and 27-year-old Major Chen Fogel from Haifa. “The way in which you operated and your efforts to manage the incident and do everything possible to rescue the two pilots are greatly appreciated,” said Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi upon visiting Captain Birman in Rambam Hospital. “I see what you focus on, how much you care, how humane and how great a person you are.”

Israeli officials just reported the largest daily uptick in coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. The country is reporting more than 1,000 new infections per day -- much higher than the 500-daily infection rate it was averaging last month. “Israel will once again be pioneering the global vaccination effort,” said Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. “We must keep our eye on the ball, act swiftly and decisively if we want to continue engaging and working with an open country.” Calling it a new layer of production, Bennett said that Israel will offer a fourth COVID-19 vaccine booster to those 60 years old and older, in addition to healthcare workers, in an ongoing effort to bolster public health.“Omicron acts differently, therefore, it obligates us to adapt everything that we have known about the coronavirus up to now,” he added.
