Six Flags: The decrepit former Six Flags amusement park in New Orleans East has been in the news plenty in recent years as firms jockeyed to win the rights to turn it from a set fit for a zombie apocalypse movie into a thriving mixed-use development. Ben Myers recently walked the park with New Orleans businessman Troy Henry and has the details on one of the most complicated redevelopment projects in recent New Orleans history
Roof program falters: Fortified roofs are considered a sure-fire way to help south Louisianans to remain in their homes as climate change and other factors cause insurance rates to skyrocket. But as Sam Karlin reports, nearly 1 in 4 of the people lucky enough to get grants in the state's first big program are no longer participating, either because they ultimately didn’t qualify or had to drop.
