NATIONAL: LGBTQ media advocacy organization GLAAD hosted its 31st annual GLAAD Media Awards virtually on July 30. The event was streamed on Facebook and YouTube, and it will air on Logo on Aug. 3. The ceremony was hosted by comedians Fortune Feimster and Gina Yashere, and featured performances from Chloe x Halle, Shea Diamond, and Ben Platt.

Creative marketing agency BMF—which has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and London—has updated its website and announced a number of new changes. LFB, a boutique lifestyle PR firm, has now been fully integrated into the main company; BMF is also expanding its digital department, restructuring other divisions, launching an editorial platform, and more.

LAS VEGAS: Graceland Wedding Chapel is now offering virtual Elvis-theme vow renewals and commitment ceremonies. Couples can invite up to 100 guests via Zoom; packages start at $279 and include a live performance by an Elvis impersonator. (Note: The ceremonies are not legally binding.)

MIAMI/CENTRAL FLORIDA: The Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center is undergoing a $1 billion expansion, which will lead to a total square footage of 1.2 million. The revamped venue will feature a 65,000-square-foot waterfront ballroom, an onsite hotel, water taxi access, and a waterfront plaza. The first phase is expected to open in November 2021; the entire project will be finished in 2024.

NEW YORK: The 16th annual Hamptons Happening is going virtual. Slated to take place on Aug. 8, the virtual concert will benefit the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation as well as COVID-19 first responders. The foundation is delivering packaged dinner boxes and wine to residences in the Hamptons.
