Dear voornaam,

In 2019, more than 500 schools were hit with ransomware attacks. A Pennsylvania school district was one of them, falling victim to ransomware over Labor Day weekend, just after the school year started.

While there have been nearly 900 publicly disclosed cybersecurity-related incidents involving U.S. public schools since 2016, the true number is probably much higher. At the same time, COVID-19 is presenting new challenges. The FBI recently issued an alert that K-12 schools should expect a surge of cyberattacks, particularly ransomware, due to remote learning and increased reliance on technology and their “limited resources to dedicate to network defense.”

Join the Center for Digital Education on July 23 at 8 a.m. Pacific/11 a.m. Eastern for a job-critical webinar as we talk with school officials from the Pennsylvania district about their experience. While the attack on the district initially resulted in operational disruptions and some data being inaccessible, school leaders were able to remediate the situation and return the district’s systems to normal operations – without interrupting classes.

Register now to hear:

  • Why a cyber breach for your district is not a question of if, but when
  • How the Pennsylvania district minimized damage and returned to normal operations as fast as possible
  • How you can build, maintain and operate a resilient endpoint security architecture

Featured Speakers:

  • Katie Kennedy-Reilly, Ed.D., Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment, Souderton Area School District
  • Frank T. Gallagher, Ed.D., Superintendent of Schools, Souderton Area School District
  • Tom Ryan — Moderator, Senior Fellow, Center for Digital Education

Registration is complimentary, and all attendees have the opportunity to download a certificate of attendance at the completion of the webinar.

We hope you can join us,
