Many of you who have visited our restaurants or enjoyed our catering over the past few weeks may have noticed something was a little different.
On November 20, 2018, Taziki’s immediately removed all romaine lettuce from our restaurants, offering a different mix of iceberg, spinach, and leaf lettuces that did not contain romaine after we received the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) food safety alert telling consumers not to eat any romaine lettuce.
The CDC and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have since issued an update narrowing the warning to consumers stating only romaine from the Central Coastal growing regions of Northern/Central California should not be consumed. Romaine harvested outside this region is safe to consume.
Taziki's is proud of our high food safety standards and work with vendors who possess integrity and transparency, further clarifying that our romaine is only being sources from safe regions of the country.
Romaine lettuce is expected to be bountiful and plenty at every Taziki's today, December 10th. Thank you for your patience while we worked with our partners to bring back our signature salad mix that we know you love and deserve. We're incredibly grateful to serve you healthy food as you #livethegoodlife and make memories with us.
