80°â107° in St. George | đ§ 10% Chance â ïž Excessive Heat Warning Forget about the Holy War. The University of Utah and BYU can step aside because thereâs a new epic rivalry in town: The Great Cookie War. This sweet battle has claimed many a dessert-lover and torn families apart over disagreements on how long a cookie should be in the oven and which cookie company is the best. But the conflict reached new heights, and my eyes have been glued to my screen over the Crumbl/Crave/Dirty Dough drama over the last few weeks. Personally, since weâre in between seasons of The Great British Bake Off, I really just want to see a cookie showdown. Tell me: My uncle and his colleague once had a bake-off competition to see who had the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. (He won, of course.) đȘ Do you have a cookie recipe that you swear by? If so, reply to this email with the recipe, and we may feature you in a future newsletter! Also on our minds today: Expect intense weather today, the Stanley Cup (not the hockey trophy) is taking over the world and the Jazz are willing to listen to offers for Donovan Mitchell. |

| In an unexpected turn of events, potential homebuyers appear to be taking control of the market. Redfinâs data shows that homebuyers are beginning to back out of deals to buy a house, so they can take more time to negotiate. Unfortunately, other homebuyers are being forced to back out because they are being priced out of the housing market. Where does Utah stand? According to Redfin, 22.4% of pending home sales fell out of contract in the Salt Lake City metro area putting it in 14th place nationwide. Where is the housing market headed? Due to inflation, interest rates are going up. In June, they jumped to almost 6%, and many people were no longer able to buy a house. For others, however, this is a silver lining and is giving them an opportunity to negotiate. Learn what it means for the housing market in this story by Katie McKellar. In Politics Trump or Biden?
