We're going to make baked donuts (and serve them in the store today). They're easy, we won't invest a lot of time, and folks will go crazy over them--absolutely scrumptious.
But they won't work for every occasion. You have to wait for them to rise and they're best served the same day. But they'll give you hero status. They need to be part of your kitchen arsenal.
Baked Donuts. Pick up several "Daily Dozen" raised donut mixes for only $2.99, reg. $3.99. Each will make 12 to 14 donuts. Get a pack of Bavarian cream for chocolate cream donuts or get raspberry or lemon filling to make filled, glazed donuts. A 2-pound pack will fill maybe six dozen donuts. Leftover filling will keep in the fridge for six months.
Cookies. Consider Raspberry Lemonade Cookies(save 21%)--guaranteed to be a summertime hit. Or grab some Soft Pudding Cookies in cinnamon, strawberry, or chocolate. Pudding cookies will stay soft and fresh for days.
