The holiday of Passover is quickly approaching. It's a special time to reflect on the events in our life, and we at Zaka Tel-Aviv would like to do just that. Last week we saw a vicious attack in Tel Aviv that left three people dead and ten injured. What did we do? Within minutes, we arrived at the site and quickly assisted the wounded, some of them had to be taken to the ER. Those who were tragically killed were transported with dignity by our specialized unit. The Tel-Aviv attack was one of many in a wave of terror sweeping Israel. Many lives were lost in just the past three weeks. What did we do? In addition to the emergency assistance, our team opened a new Zaka Chapter in Netanya, one of the largest cities in Israel, that needed the establishment of our support. Six weeks ago, Russia launched a military attack on Ukraine which took thousands of lives. What did we do? At the very inception of the war, we deployed two teams of volunteers as the first Israeli organization to send their members to assist in Ukraine. Our volunteers helped thousands of injured individuals. They also assisted thousands of women and children in crossing the borders as they were seeking refuge. Many of them were Israeli citizens and members of Ukraine's Jewish community. In the last year alone, we witnessed terror attacks, wildfires, the Meiron tragedy, barrages of rockets, a worldwide pandemic, and war. But, as always, Zaka Tel-Aviv stands by the people of Israel with rescue operations, strategic evacuations, and medical assistance. Of course, we hope and pray our help should not be needed, but it is only becoming completely essential for survival. Help us continue saving lives this Holiday Season and on. |
