Hello, Today we take a look ahead to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday. As people across the globe pay their respects to Her Majesty, in the UK the day has been declared a bank holiday by King Charles III. With the service at 11am, there will be lots of changes to local services and shops. We’ve tried to round things up the best we can in what is an ever-changing situation. Councils and NHS providers have clarified what they will be doing on Monday when it comes to everything from bin collections to GP appointments. Supermarkets have all taken differing approaches, with some opening later in the day and others only opening their petrol forecourts at some stage. As it is at the discretion of every business whether they open or not, we’ve taken a look at the major shops in Preston, and it’s worth checking on your go-to places closer to Monday. Some venues are also announcing they will be showing the funeral, but normal screenings at your local cinema have been cancelled. There’s all that and plenty more in this email, which we hope you find useful. Thanks for reading, Adam adam.lord@nationalworld.com |
