INDUSTRY NEWS

NATIONAL: The MATZOBALL Online, an online speed-dating event for Jewish singles, will take place Dec. 24 in 23 cities across five countries. The upcoming event, which is being held virtually for the first time, has already broken the Guinness World Record for the largest speed-dating event, with more than 1,000 people registered.

CSM Sport and Entertainment, a global marketing and brand experience firm, has launched its “Experience Anywhere” practice in North America. The new service is gearing towards hybrid experiences, and it offers everything from conceiving and managing content to integrating technology and handling full-service event production.

LOS ANGELES: The highly anticipated Academy Museum has delayed its opening to Sept. 30, 2021, due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19. The opening will be preceded by a series of opening events, including a gala on Sept. 25.

NEW YORK: The first virtual Architecture & Design Show, which took place Nov. 19 to Dec. 3, was its best-attended yet, drawing more than 17,000 people over two weeks. It featured 17 film programs and special guests like Bjarke Ingels and Frank Gehry. Based on the success, organizers plan to offer virtual programming in future years.

WASHINGTON, DC: The Conrad Washington, DC, is hosting “Hotline to the North Pole,” a video conference program where guests and local kids get to chat with Santa. The hotline will be open Dec. 23 for patients at Children’s National Hospital, and Dec. 24 for hotel guests (who will also get in-room milk and cookie deliveries during their video call). The Conrad New York Downtown is also hosting a hotline.
