What Did You Miss This Week In Rocketry?

Advanced Construction Video #401This week, we released our latest how-to video that enhances your skills when building model rockets. This one shows you how to cut a body tube at an angle without using a miter box. You might use this technique to add extra decoration on to an otherwise plain looking rocket.

RockSim Live will be cancelled today, because we'll be attending the rocketry conference event called NARCON. You can join in vitually too. The fun begins at 11:45 a.m. (CST).

Tim will be presenting his NARCON session on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. (CST). This session is about how to make carbon fiber tubes with female molds. There will be an emphesis on ultra-lightweight tubes for competition, but the process works equally well for tubes of any size. You can get a preview of this session on our YouTube channel.

Peak-of-Flight Newsletter

On Tuesday of next week, we'll be releasing the second part of an article by Professor Bennett on how to calculate the speed at which fins flutter and might rip off the sides of your rocket. This article in particular describes the process for custom shaped fins, which are not simple trapazoids or ellipses.
