What Did You Miss This Week In Rocketry?

Advanced Construction VideoOn Tuesday of this week, we released part 10 of the build sequence of the "Timer Test Vehicle" (TTV) model rocket kit. From the previous video, the glue on the fins is dry so we removed the rocket from the fin alignment jig. Then we attached the launch lug and stand-off to the front end of the tube and glue it into place. An alignment check of the launch lugs was made to make sure the two lugs would allow the launch rod to slide easily through them both. Then we put glue fillets along the fins. While that glue is drying, we put the protective bulkhead disk into the transition using thin super glue.

Strap-on Booster PodsAlso this week, we released our new Strap-on Booster Pods. Designed for medium-sized model rockets, these strap-on booster pods enhance lift-off thrust and enable faster takeoffs or the safe launch of heavier payloads into the sky. Based on BT-55 size tubes, they can be attached to most any mid-power size rocket for awesome lift-offs and impressive amounts of smoke and fire. Get a set today and really impress your friends.

RockSim Live! - Due to a conflict with Tim's schedule, the normally scheduled RockSim-Live training session for today (Friday, November 3 at 2 p.m. Mountain Time Zone), is cancelled. We'll be back at the normal time next Friday. If you've never participated, why not see what it is all about? See you then.

Peak-of-Flight Newsletter What is Coming Up Next Week?

Do you get confused by the difference between sport models, and sport scale models? Our new graphics designer Ryan Coleman is brand new to rocketry, and he had the same issue. So he is going to tell you what he discovered, and how he uses it to create the awesome graphics for our new kits.

The main article in the next issue will be a step-by-step process for simulating a 2-stage rocket that has flip-out fins. This is normally complex, but thanks to the Launch Visualizer, it can accomplished relatively quickly, and with outstanding accuracy.
