Here’s What You Should Wear This Fall, According to Cool Women

BY LOGAN MAHAN

For the past five years here at InsideHook, I, a woman, have written extensively about the accessories and clothing you, a man, should be sporting, largely on the basis of whether or not said items elicit a sexual response from me.

However, there are many times when I take stock of the style items other women find hot. This oftentimes comes to fruition thanks to internet trends. Take, for example, when TikTok was brazenly thirsting over men wearing their baseball caps backwards, or when I investigated why users on the video-sharing app were claiming a man wearing a Carhartt vest made them “want to ovulate.”

Because it is officially fall and arguably the best time of year for throwin’ fits, I wanted to put together a fall style guide for men with the female perspective in mind. And because taste is subjective, I reached out to other very cool, very knowledgeable women for their input on what they’d like to see men wear this fall.

The YouTube Guide to Cooking

BY AMANDA GABRIELE

I’ve always been a cookbook person. I like a physical copy of a recipe, printed on real paper so I can make notes in the margins. But during the pandemic, something started happening, and I know it was just in my world — I started watching a lot more recipe videos. Sure, it was a way to pass the hours at home, but with so much free time for cooking projects, I was hungry for every single outlet I could find.

Life is back to normal, and while I don’t watch a ton of recipe video content anymore, a few channels stuck. These are my absolute favorite cooking channels on YouTube. May they inspire your own culinary adventures, whether you’re an advanced cook or just bought your first real knife.

Why Spirits Brands Are Embracing Honey

Honey is everywhere — and not just in food. Increasingly, you’ll find it in gins, rums, bourbons, brandies, beers and even — the horror — blended with whisk(e)y.

This idea is not exactly new. When Wild Turkey’s founder Jimmy Russell decided to add honey to his 101 Bourbon in 1976, that was considered a novelty. Dewar’s launched its Highland Honey back in 2012, around the same time as Jack Daniel’s and Jim Beam released their own honey whiskey expressions. Today, several craft whiskey brands are utilizing honey infusions and ex-honey barrels in the maturation process (see: Amber & OpalFive SpringsGarrison BrothersUp NorthBlue NoteBroken Barrel and many more).

Honey may become even bigger outside of whiskey. Earlier this year Absolut launched its infused Absolut Hunni vodka, and Indiana’s Cardinal Spirits announced its Honey Schnapps. Indeed, if you’re looking for a drink, honey can be hard to avoid.
