Some top advertisers say that consulting firms are good at telling marketers what they're doing wrong with their budgets, but not with turning them into realistic action points.
- After riding the choppy waters of digital media for more than three decades, Salon Media Group’s owners have abandoned ship. The company is being sold for $5 million to Chris Richmond and Drew Schoentrup, the owners of monetization services firm Proper Media. They think there's an easy path to profitability for the publisher.
- IGTV isn't quite cutting it when it comes to analytics, so agencies are using it mostly for testing concepts. For example, 360i has launched a content series for the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation. "For now, we want to do what we do best: be creative. Have some fun, take some swings and then see how it turns out,” said Bryant Kohler, head of brand at Conscious Minds," which created an IGTV series for Nike titled Fight For Your Dream.
