In his article on martech vendor earnings, Mike Pastore wisely puts some of the blame for a sluggish market on that market’s maturity. He writes, “Can you think of a lot of companies that need a CRM or marketing automation platform today but don’t have one?” And of course, switching out the one you have for an alternative is risky, expensive and disruptive.
Where business is not sluggish, of course, is in the AI space. But for how long? One day, everyone is going to have the generative AI tool(s) they need, whether they be for conversational marketing, content marketing, digital asset management or image and video creation.
How far off do you think that day is, at the speed things are moving? I think it could be less than two years.
P.S. If you haven’t found time yet, the MarTech Replacement Survey is patiently waiting for you.
