Where in Lancashire is the coronavirus infection rate still going up?

Good afternoon,

Since this pandemic began, we have fought as journalists to get access to the clear facts and statistics that are fuelling decisions made by our politicians here in Lancashire and across the UK.

Our role as local journalists is to boil down that information so you, our valued readers right here, can understand why as well as what is going on and how it impacts your life.

This has been difficult, to put it lightly, as much has been with-held from the public sphere and often bodies, including hospitals, are encouraged not to share numbers, as politicians attempt to control the message centrally.

Not all media, and therefore not all areas of the country have been treated equally. Not so much a north/south divide as an inequality of information, something even local politicians themselves have felt the brunt of.

Today, as we yet again share the latest information and shocking reality of the increase in hospital cases, we ask you to bear with us as we battle for the truth on your behalf and ask you trust us - because we live here alongside you and know you deserve more.
