For twenty-five years Pandaw have pioneered river expeditions on remote rivers in frontier countries. In Burma we are the only operator to offer regular sailings up the lush so lovely Chindwin, through the great Irrawaddy Defiles, or across the Great Delta. We are the only company that can do all Laos and then on into the heart of Western China. You will only find us on the Red River in Vietnam and whilst we have a good few fellow navigators on the Mekong, between Vietnam and Cambodia, you will find our itineraries somewhat different. As for India, no one else braves it up the real Ganges as far as Patna. How do we do it? Simple - super shallow draft ships, spirited crews and passengers who are up for a challenge.

Burma (Myanmar) is a land of rivers. The Irrawaddy river, navigable for 1000 miles, or its main tributary the Chindwin river, navigable for 600 miles, and the Salween river which is actually the longest river in Burma.

The Mekong river flows through six countries and on this section of the river three smaller Pandaw cruise ships cover from Vientiane in Laos to Jinghong in Yunnan, South-West China, stopping in Chiang Rai province of North Thailand and Keng Tung State in the Shan Hills of Burma.

Traverse picturesque West Bengal with its Arcadian countryside and cultural treasures – from temple complexes to colonial palazzi. Sail between Kolkata and holy Varanasi said to be the oldest city on the planet.

The Mekong river flows through six countries and Pandaw are proud to now offer river cruises through all of these. We pass through a richly varying riverscape from the vast Mekong Delta with floating markets, bustling trading towns and vibrant river life to the silence of the Cambodian Mekong river with its delightful rural life.
