The global supplement market continued to grow faster than even we could have imagined in 2021

In our analysis at the end of 2020, we predicted a market of $164.99 billion for 2021, growing at 5.6%. Now, we foresee the market hitting the $167.49 billion mark, a sign of incredible growth driven by the pandemic that didn't end as soon as predicted.

This ripple effect can be seen in fluctuating growth across global regions:
  • With 35.2% of the global market share, the U.S. market drives trendlines, and growth in the country is projected to normalize in 2021 to 5.3%.
  • Latin America is seeing stronger growth than previously projected by growing 10.3% bringing the market size to $14.84 billion.
  • While in China, a $24.25 billion market, growth reached a more modest 7.5% in 2020 but is projected to remain strong at 7.1% in 2021.
The global pandemic has been wildly unpredictable, making the job of predicting a market that much more difficult. However, we now know with confidence where the global markets currently stand and have an additional year of analysis and expertise in understanding where they will move from here.
