Good morning,

Highs Friday will be just around 20 south with teens north, along with sunshine. Saturday will be slightly cooler than normal again with highs once again mostly in the teens to around 20 but again, with a fair amount of sunshine. Get the latest on Updraft.

'I got myself back': White Earth project strengthens individuals to build community

A new initiative is teaching parents on the White Earth Reservation life skills to be better parents, but just as importantly, how to use their voices to create community change. Cultural identity is central to the first-of-its-kind program in Minnesota that seeks to help people heal from trauma and empowers them to help others.

PUC requires environmental review for first proposed carbon pipeline in Minnesota. Members of the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission voted 5-0 to formally accept Summit Carbon Solution’s route permit application for what could be Minnesota’s first carbon capture pipeline. 

St. Paul resident reflects on his time covering Pope Benedict XVI for Catholic News Service. The world remembered the former pontiff, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Thursday as he was laid to rest below St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican. He died Saturday at age 95. One of those remembering him was a Minnesotan who had a front row seat to his papacy

McCarthy fails and fails again: GOP stalemate on new speaker. For a third day, divided Republicans left the speaker’s chair of the U.S. House sitting empty Thursday, as party leader Kevin McCarthy failed and failed again in an excruciating string of ballots to win enough GOP votes to seize the chamber’s gavel.
