Meet Australia' biggest Tool fan, the best of BIGSOUND, and 5 industrial classics
Another BIGSOUND is over, which is both hugely relieving and upsetting at the same time. The event is a week-long celebration of music, with 150-odd bands playing all throughout the streets of Fortitude Valley in Brisbane. It's one hell of a party. I don't go in for the industry stuff much. But I relish the opportunity to see so many acts in such a short space of time. The standard is impossibly high and it all just makes you feel real good about what's happening in Australian music right now. My highlights for the week were: Wolfjay, 100, The Buoys, Luboku, Pinch Points, DRMNGNW, Loser, boler mani, Gordon Koang, Spacey Jane, Mambali, Black Rock Band, EGOISM, Laura Imbruglia, Electric Fields, Mojo Juju, yergurl… I could go on. You can read a bit more about a few of them below. If you need me this weekend, I'll be in bed, counting down the days until the return of Terrace House. | | - Dan Condon, Music Editor |
