Who killed a 79-year-old grandfather? And why?

The last time Melony Phillips saw John Brown Sr., she was giving him a thank-you gift. 

"I said, 'you've been a great friend to me. I appreciate you so much," she remembers telling Brown. 

Now he's gone, victim of a deadly shooting in his own home. It's a case that has left neighbors and loved ones wondering what could possibly have caused someone to kill a 79-year-old grandfather.
