Who's Afraid of Church Discipline?

Church discipline isn’t exactly a popular topic. I can see why. In an era when we’ve become more aware of abuse and institutional sins, talking about a church disciplining someone can sound downright spooky. Most pastors would rather swallow a fork.

Yet Scripture is clear that in some instances churches must discipline is necessary. Of course such actions should be taken sparingly and with great wisdom—and only as a last resort.
