The Landscape
Large employers anticipate a 5.3% increase in health benefit costs next year, with total costs reaching an average of $15,500 per employee, according to an annual survey from Business Group on Health. Nearly all survey respondents expect to cover telehealth, including for mental health and well-being, and many are providing manager training on mental health issues and conducting anti-stigma campaigns.

US consumer confidence fell in August to its lowest level in more than six years as Americans became concerned again about the labor market and incomes. This is the second consecutive monthly decline in consumer confidence reported by the Conference Board.
