NATIONAL: The Events Industry Council (EIC) has named Augustine "Gus" Chijioke as its new director of certification and education. In the role, he’ll be responsible for directing the CMP and CMP-HC credentialing programs and continue to grow and develop the organization’s products and services.

ATLANTA: The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau has recently promoted Charlene Lopez to vice president of sales, where she'll be leading sales initiatives through events and leading customer engagement to increase hotel room night bookings across the city. Lopez has worked in the hospitality industry for over 18 years. 

LAS VEGAS: The Santa Run is returning to Downtown Las Vegas, and registration is now open. The in-person race will take place Dec. 4, or runners have the option to join the race virtually from Dec. 4-26. Runners can choose between the 5k or 1-mile event at the in-person portion and can also enjoy a variety of vendors, food trucks and live entertainment. 

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The Gabriel Miami, Curio Collection by Hilton reopened its doors earlier this month. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Miami and offers guests an immersive experience through food, art and exploration. The Gabriel has 129 different rooms as well as an on-site restaurant.

SAN BERNARDINO, CALIF: Escape Halloween has announced the lineup for its annual Halloween music festival. The event will be held at NOS Events Center in San Bernardino from Oct. 29-30, with notable performers including DJ Snake, The Chainsmokers and Zedd. Tickets for the 10th annual Halloween-themed festival go on sale July 9.
