Monday, 16 May Launch of the Global Report on Assisitive Technology The Global Report on Assistive Technology - the first ever collection of global data and information on access to assistive products such as eyeglasses, hearing aids, mobility or communication devices – reveals that the number of people who need one or more such products is larger than previously estimated. The report launches next Monday at 15:00 CEST The launch will be moderated by Nujeen Mustafa, author, refugee, and disability rights advocate. More here. The embargo on the report and the press release will be lifted at 15:00 CEST Tuesday, 17 May Webinar: The heart of Nursing To recognise and celebrate International Nurses Day, this webinar will shine a light on nurses who are working in challenging environments around the world. We will hear stories from nurses who have experienced work in communities that have become affected by conflict and natural disaster, and who have maintained health care delivery when routine services have been interrupted. Wednesday, 18 May Release of the third progress report of the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All Ahead of the 75th World Health Assembly, the signatory agencies of the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All (SDG3 GAP) will release their third progress report, Stronger collaboration for an equitable and resilient recovery towards the health-related SDGs: Incentivizing collaboration, reporting on progress in scaling collaboration and turning a spotlight on incentives that enable collaboration. The report and an accompanying news release will be available here. Webinar: Building the public health and emergency workforce: A roadmap Building from the consensus in the Italian G20 in 2021, WHO and many of the world’s leading public health organizations and schools have collaborated to develop a roadmap for strengthening the public health and emergency workforce. The roadmap offers a unique opportunity for Member States and regional and global bodies to join forces and adopt a coherent approach to the development and management of this critically needed category of workers. The roadmap will be released during a webinar next Wednesday at 12:30 CEST. More here. Thursday, 19 May Webinar on health of migrants and Global Compact for Migration commitments A webinar, Looking beyond 2022: what can we do better for the health of migrants and advance Global Compact for Migration commitments?, takes place next Thursday at 14:30 CEST. Organized on the margins of the first International Migration Review Forum (IMRF), 17-20 May, this 90-minute high-level webinar will bring together Member States and key stakeholders to discuss what we can do better to progress the global health and migration agendas beyond the IMRF and catalyze action. Register here. 22-28 May 75th World Health Assembly “Health for Peace, Peace for health" is the theme for the 75th World Health Assembly (WHA75) which will run 22-28 May, 2022. WHA75 will kick off with a high-level session on 22 May. The Assembly will be webcast live from the WHO website. The provisional agenda and Assembly documents can be accessed here.
