Tuesday, 20 April Fair Pricing Forum continues The Fair Pricing Forum is a biennial WHO initiative to find new ways and strategies to make medicines and other health products affordable and more fairly accessible to all health systems. The Forum brings together all stakeholders in this area – governments, civil society, researchers and the pharmaceutical industry, both originator and generic. This year’s forum, taking place from 13-22 April, has the following objectives: To share countries’ experiences, including from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, in ensuring affordability and transparency of prices and costs of health productsTo advance discussion and knowledge on approaches and factors pertaining to the pricing and R&D of pharmaceutical products for enhancing affordability, transparency, and innovation, and achieving health sustainable development goals To increase support for countries to achieve more affordable and fairer access to pharmaceutical products during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyondThe 2021 Forum will be virtual and is supported by the Government of Argentina. Wednesday, 21 April Online forum and press briefing on malaria elimination to mark World Malaria Day Ahead of World Malaria Day, marked each year on 25 April, country leaders, frontline health workers and global partners will reflect on efforts to reach the target of zero malaria. At this virtual forum, WHO will announce a group of 25 countries that have the potential to eliminate malaria by 2025. Related content will be shared through an embargoed platform by 19 April. The key messaging, report, video and press release will be embargoed until 4:00 pm CEST on 21 April – please DO NOT share or publish any of these materials before that date.
