Tuesday, 21 June 2022 SunSmart Global UV App A new App for mobile phones users providing ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels will be launched by the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The SunSmart Global UV App provides five-day UV and weather forecasts at searchable locations. The App highlights time slots when sun protection is required with the aim of helping people around the world know when to use sun protection, in an effort to reduce the global burden of skin cancer and UV-related eye damage. WHO will share the embargoed joint press release on Monday, 20 June. Thursday, 23 June 2022 WHO/UNICEF Progress Report on Household Drinking-Water, Sanitation and Hygiene A WHO/UNICEF Progress on Household Drinking-Water, Sanitation and Hygiene will provide an update on the proportion of schools without basic water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services and where inequalities persist between and within countries. Schoolchildren in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and fragile contexts are the most affected, and emerging data shows that few schools have disability-accessible WASH services.
