Monday, 10 January COVID-19 Case Management Webinar Series: On Monday from 13:30-15:30 CET, WHO will host the COVID-19 Case Management Webinar Series: COVID-19 and pregnancy. COVID-19 disease is associated with increased risk of severe illness and adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes. This webinar will focus on key elements to consider in the clinical management of mild, moderate or severe COVID-19 during pregnancy, childbirth and the early postnatal period. This session will bring together experts from around the world to discuss community- and hospital-based management, supportive care, prevention of complications and use of therapeutics for COVID-19 during pregnancy. Tuesday, 11 January US EPA and WHO virtual signing ceremony The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and WHO partner to protect public health, and will sign a renewed five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Tuesday at 11:00 EST/17:00 CET. The agreement will address key areas of collaboration on a wide range of specific and crosscutting environment and health issues. Contacts: Results of study to assess effectiveness of WHO stress management tool in preventing mental disorders The results of a large-scale study to assess the effectiveness of a WHO stress management tool, Self-Help Plus, in preventing mental disorders among refugees in Turkey, is due to be published in World Psychiatry on 11 January. The study is the first randomized controlled trial to consider the prevention of mental disorders among Syrian refugees experiencing psychological distress but without a diagnosis of a mental disorder. WHO experts are available for interview. Wednesday, 12 January Pre-summit event on disability inclusion Including the experiences and skills of people living with disabilities in the design and delivery of health systems is fundamental to achieving health for all. Join Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director-General, and partners on Wednesday from 15:00-17:00 CET at the pre-summit event on disability inclusion in the health sector. The event is co-hosted by the Governments of Ghana and Norway and the International Disability Alliance, in collaboration with WHO. Thursday, 13 January 10th COVID-19 IHR Emergency Committee Meeting The tenth meeting of the International Health Regulations (2005) Emergency Committee regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic will take place next Thursday.
