Why a Chicago group has now sunk $12M into a Lafayette subdivision

Happy Friday and welcome back to another edition of Acadiana Business Today. Let's get cracking. 

A national company that is expanding into the rental market has bought several single family houses in Lafayette as the rental market continues to grow. Chicago-based Kairos Living last month bought 10 newly built properties in north Lafayette for just under $2.1 million from Louisiana homebuilder DSLD, land records show.

Kairos has now purchased 60 properties in the Corinne Place subdivision, located near the corner of Moss Street and Maryview Farm Road, at a combined cost of about $12 million, records show.

The single family rental market might be the hottest trend in real estate in the U.S. right now.
