The real estate market in Lafayette Parish has gotten all the headlines in 2023 of higher prices, lower inventory and sales that fell back to pre-pandemic levels. But another story unfolded last year: the market in the outlying parishes fared better in Lafayette Parish as buyers were lured by available land that was often at lower prices.
