Why does Louisiana pay more for less reliable electricity?

Louisiana homeowners and businesses have paid more for electricity but received increasingly less reliable and resilient power over the past several years, according to a new analysis from the state legislative auditor. And the state's demand for power in the coming years is only going up, with increasingly extreme weather (last week could be a good example) and the rise of AI technology, which uses large amounts of electricity. 

Louisiana's terrain, infrastructure and reliance on natural gas pose challenges for improving the energy grid. Read the full story from reporter David Mitchell.
