If there’s been a dominant theme in the world of golf course renovation the last 20 years, it’s the desire of a new generation of club members to return to pre-World War II versions of their architecture. The venerable East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, host of the annual Tour Championship and the venue Bobby Jones grew up playing, is the latest to reach into the past.
