Is this goo roo approved success habit hurting your productivity?
 

Hey, 

Back in the early days of my career. 

When I was a glorified towel boy working at a big corporate gym. 

I decided to find a way to build an online business...

...So I could quit my soul sucking job and spend my days doing something other than wiping sweat stains off gym benches. 

And after diving into a ton of self-help literature. 

I decided that one of the best ways to ensure my success was to spend 15-minutes every morning visualizing my success (insert eyeroll). 

I’d sit down on a comfy pillow, close my eyes, and try to “see” myself running a big million dollar business and jetting around the world like a celebrity. 

To be honest… I’m pretty bad at visualization. 

And for a while, I thought I’d broken my “third eye” with all of the caffeine and alcohol I consumed back then. 

But it was bigger than that… 

After a few weeks of this practice I realized that I wasn’t actually doing the work required to make the things I visualized a reality. 

(Btw... that's the "missing ingredient" things like The Secret miss... hard work)

I had to be awake at 4:30 am to get ready and catch the train to the gym where I had my first client session at 6. 

Meaning even if I woke up at 3:30 am… 

I barely had an hour to get things done and make progress toward my goals. 

And visualizing didn’t seem like a good use of that time. 

I realized that the best form of “visualization” isn’t to imagine yourself succeeding in your mind’s eye… 

But to actually do the hard work required to succeed… and watch success unfold with eyes wide open. 

And when I stopped wasting time on visualization and started spending those 15-minutes working on my business and high income skills… 

...My business took off in a big way. 

Just some food for thought.
