Why is China Suddenly Canceling Purchases of U.S. Corn?
 
China canceled more corn purchases this past week. As the country switches to cheaper sources from places such as Brazil, it puts more focus on a possible demand problem in the U.S. and is causing beginning stocks to swell.
 
 

The snowpack is rapidly melting, and the Upper Mississippi River levels are rising. The flooding is impacting barge transportation and some farm ground. USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey says the worst is yet to come.

 
 
 

On Friday, EPA issued an emergency fuel waiver, allowing E15 fuel sales this summer. Generally, E15 is banned in the summer months, but EPA flipped the script for the first time last year to alleviate high pump prices.

 
 
 

In west-central Missouri, most farmers are finished planting corn and now moving to soybeans. The planting pace is also catching the attention of USDA-NASS.
