Pleasant through the weekend. Mostly sunny and dry for the rest of this week across Minnesota. Highs tomorrow will range from the mid-60s to mid-70s. There is a chance of evening showers and thunderstorms this evening in far southeastern Minnesota. 


Four officers ‘should be put in jail’: George Floyd’s sister calls for justice in her brother’s death. “They murdered my brother. They killed him,” said Bridgett Floyd, George Floyd’s sister. “That’s definitely not enough justice for me or my family. I feel like those guys need to be put in jail.” Philonise Floyd, George Floyd’s brother, also said the family wanted the officers to not only be fired, but face criminal charges. 

COVID-19 in Minnesota today: 100,000 lives lost to virus in the U.S.; 932 deaths in Minnesota. State health officials on Wednesday reported 33 more deaths tied to the disease. Hospitalizations also rose and the number of people in intensive care reached 260, a new daily high in the pandemic.

Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm noted disparities in COVID-19 numbers in Minnesota and nationwide, saying “the conditions in our community that put some people at greater harm, at greater risk than others, is the challenge that we all face together.”

And it will help mitigate water pollution. It’s a collaboration among the Walker Art Center, an Iowa-based artist and a local urban farm organization.
 
Trump threatens social media after Twitter fact-checks him
Claiming tech giants "silence conservative voices," the president tweeted Wednesday that, "We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen." President Trump can't unilaterally regulate or close social media companies, as that would require action by Congress or the Federal Communications Commission.

St. Louis County commissioners delay vote — again — on refugee resettlement
The northeastern Minnesota county tabled a vote in January on whether to consent to refugee resettlement. Despite hours of passionate debate Tuesday, the board voted again to delay the decision until federal courts weigh in on the issue.
