The evolution of entertainment news and what it means for you

When I was given the keys to the Channel24 mansion, back then maybe more of a bachelor pad, I was allowed free rein. "Experiment," was the brief from our then editor-in-chief.

I was lucky enough to be given the space and opportunity to try new things. In those days, the focus of the local media industry was still very much on print, and our reader base still small – if we did make a mess, it was considered easy enough to still mop up.

Now the moment has finally come to drop the curtain on the sculpture we've painstakingly been carving out of a block of marble behind the scenes. On close inspection, I'm sure there will still be some faults we need to chisel out, but for the most part, we're ready to place our artwork in the spotlight.

In the coming months, you'll see a seismic shift in our offering as we aim to enrich, inspire and inform our now millions of readers uninterrupted daily.

Do stay tuned as we enter our next era, and to those who have been by our side all along: "Here's looking at you, kid."
