Education doesn’t end once you graduate — life is full of learning opportunities. But for the students who attend the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Utah, it’s worthwhile to head back to the classroom just for fun.
The program is for people 50 and over who attend class purely for the joy of learning. There are no tests, no finals and no grades, and the course catalog offers everything from art history to advances in biomedical engineering to Ukrainian egg decorating.
Jill Meyer, the director of the program, called the program the University of Utah’s “best-kept secret.”
“Everyone is here because they want to be here,” she said. “It’s wonderful. It’s what learning should be.”
