Why did the in-house favorite for East Baton Rouge superintendent miss out?

The search for a new superintendent for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system continues next week, as the three remaining finalists will undergo in-person interviews with board members on Monday and Tuesday. A final vote on the district's next leader is scheduled for Thursday.

Adam Smith, the current interim superintendent, is not included in the final three candidates, having fallen one vote short.
