I will start by stating the obvious: we've sent a lot of fundraising emails lately. There's no doubt about that. So I want to take a moment to explain to you what these emails mean for our work to reclaim the internet.

Grassroots contributions made in response to emails like this provide critical funding for the people, organisations, and ideas that make up our work to reclaim the internet. While they are not the only source of financial support for the Mozilla Foundation, grassroots donations are the cornerstone of our non-profit work.

So when you see our Mozilla movement stop governments from instituting browser-level web censorship in Firefox and other browsers, your donation helped make it possible.

When you see activists and organisations build technology to correct misinformation in Burkina Faso, provide AI tools to agricultural farmers in Uganda, and process Ghanaian languages for voice recognition systems, your donation helped make it possible.

When you see Mozilla expose security vulnerabilities in products like Amazon Ring doorbells and alert consumers about how their privacy is at risk, your donation made it possible.

When you see online tools to protect human rights defenders and journalists in Latin America, monitor air quality in Paraguay, and support LGBTQ+ youth in South Africa, your donation helped make it possible.

When big tech companies are held accountable and when people are in control of the internet again, your donation helped make it possible.
