A 22-year-old Florida woman disappeared during a cross-country road trip with her boyfriend Image Source: Instagram What started out as a romantic, cross-country road trip ended in an investigation into the disappearance of 22-year-old Gabby Petito, police say.
The woman's parents reported her missing on Saturday, when she didn't return to Florida with her partner, Brian Laundrie. The couple had embarked on their adventure on July 2, in a converted Ford Transit van.
They had been sharing their journey on social media channels, uploading a video to YouTube called "VAN LIFE | Beginning Our Van Life Journey." They appear happy and in love in that footage.
Petito last spoke to her parents in late August, authorities say, while she was in Grand Teton National Park.
Her boyfriend has not spoken to authorities, officials confirmed.
"We have not talked with him, we would love to talk to him. He is under no obligation to talk to us – and he has not. And we don't even know yet if a crime happened," a spokesman for a local police department said.
Officials did say that "the circumstances [of Petito's disappearance] are odd." In the latest example of bad behavior in the skies, two women arrested for yelling on JetBlue fight Image Source: Craig Warga / Getty Images More and more adults are acting like children while they are flying in the air, reports show, with 85% of flight attendants saying they encountered an "unruly" traveler so far this year. Another 17% said they witnessed some kind of physical encounter while doing their jobs.
The latest example to come to light ended with the arrest of two women from Connecticut, who apparently started screaming and cursing at children who'd been kicking their seats.
The kids (a two-year-old and a four-year-old) were terrified off the women.
"[The suspects] responded inappropriately by directly yelling and cursing at the children, causing the passengers on the plane to be nervous and the kids and parents to be scared," an official said.
What else do we know about the worsening situation in the skies?
Also, I'm curious... Have you flown recently? If so, did you witness any bad behavior? Reply back and let me know!
