There’s an unusual habit I use to supercharge my creative thinking…
…and give me greater focus & clarity.
And since this habit is such a brain booster…
It’s also led to some of my most profitable business decisions in the last 3 years.
What’s the habit?
I make a point of regularly scheduling 1, 3, and even 5-day “blackouts” on my calendar.
No, I don’t mean booze-fueled benders that erase my memory…
I’m talking about tech blackouts.
Where I completely unplug myself from my phone, text messages, social media, the internet in general, and even TV.
What I’ve found is when you go a day or two without all that digital information coming at you...
(emails, news updates, text messages, likes, comments, DM’s, etc.)
Your brain finally switches out of reactive mode and into creation mode…
Allowing you to do the deep thinking needed to solve important problems and take giant leaps in your business.
Plus it does wonders for stress.
Think of this blackout as a “digital detox”.
Our brains never evolved to handle the volume of information we’re now exposed to daily.
And whether you realize it or not — processing all that information is exhausting.
Like trying to sip water from a firehose.
But when you give your mind a break from that constant pressure…
It begins to churn with new ideas and fresh energy.
That’s why you’ll be amazed by your own brain power and problem solving ability when you try my blackout strategy.
So how do you do it?
Here’s what I suggest:
1. Pull out your calendar
2. Pick 1-2 days where you go ALL IN on this
3. Commit to a full blackout... no phone, text, email, social, news websites, nothing.
And just what the heck will you do for 24-48 hours with no tech?
Get outside! Be in nature.
Take walks, ride a bike, go to the park, go camping or on a hike.
Read books… daydream… and bonus points for a short nap or two.
Working is totally fine too… but you must do it without your phone or computer.
Grab a good old fashioned pen and paper…
And just brainstorm ideas for your business.
New products, marketing channels, profit streams…
Or reflect on the reasons behind your biggest success and failures.
I guarantee if you do this for at least 24 hours, your mind will be swimming with BIG ideas.
Generally the longer you “detox”, the greater the effects...
Some of my most successful clients regularly schedule 5 and even 7 day blackouts.
In that time they’ve improved sales scripts, fixed offers, solved 7 and 8-figure problems, and even written books.
However, let’s just start with an achievable 1 or 2 days…
And let you graduate from there.
