Hi folks, what's the craic?

Another day, another world-changing project is in the pipeline for Dubai.

This week the RTA has unveiled plans for a futuristic-looking Rail Bus which looks like something out of a sci-fi film (I assume, I've never managed to get on board with any science fiction, but let's not digress too much).

The point is, it looks cool and it's going to be another quick, convenient way to get around Dubai. It's not to be confused with the equally out-there trackless tram unveiled last year.

While those projects look like they'll be years in the making, one (totally different) change to get excited about is the makeover of the historic neighbourhood of Satwa.

A revamp of Dubai's "Mini Manilla" has seen even more splashes of colour and practical improvements that'll be loved by residents and tourists alike.

It goes to show that not everything has to be the biggest, the most futuristic or the boldest to be a change worth celebrating.
