A wise financial advisor once said that unless you can afford to fly private until the day you die, you can't afford to fly private. As any caddie can attest, golfers from tour pros to 20-handicaps routinely ignore sound advice in the pursuit of glory.
To be fair, golf and private aviation have an intertwined history, from the pioneering days of Captain Arnold Palmer to the expanding modern tour schedule to today's trend of the greatest new courses being built in ever more remote destinations. When golfers (of all abilities) fly private, it opens a whole new world of luxury, complexities and even comedy.
