STEP (Service Dog Training and Education Program) is a new LSU campus organization that lets students raise future service dogs. Canine Companions provides the puppies, and students train the future service dogs in basic manners and over 30 different commands. Then the dogs go off to professional training and get matched to a person with disabilities. Read more about the “puppy raisers” and their work.
