Despite roller coaster ride, hurricane season forecast has been fairly accurate

While the 2024 hurricane season may not end up among the most active seasons in history as initially predicted, researchers say it likely will still end with more activity than usual.

Colorado State University hurricane researcher Phil Klotzbach said the storm pattern has been unusual: “It’s been just basically take the hurricane rule book and throw it out the window."

STEP (Service Dog Training and Education Program) is a new LSU campus organization that lets students raise future service dogs.

Canine Companions provides the puppies, and students train the future service dogs in basic manners and over 30 different commands. Then the dogs go off to professional training and get matched to a person with disabilities.
