A Message From the Editor

Good morning. Taylor Swift fans (and many of their parents and grandparents) were in an uproar last week when a concert presale on Ticketmaster turned into an utter debacle. Within hours of opening the presale, it became clear that Ticketmaster could not handle the demand, and stories emerged in the ensuring hours and days about IT outages, unprecedented wait tmes, and more. Ticketmaster was already on the DOJ's antitrust radar, but the experience had by the Swifties led to renewed investigation into the consolidated Live Nation Entertainment. In today's featured article, LTN's Isha Marathe explores how non-price factors like IT issues and data privacy may serve as the basis for a new antitrust focus in DOJ investigations.
