U.S., China drive TikTok to in-app spending record
(TikTok)
Consumers spent $3.8 billion within the TikTok app this year, marking a 15% year-over-year gain and making it the first non-game mobile app to achieve $10 billion in cumulative consumer spending across the Apple App Store and Google Play, per data.ai, which predicts it will become the highest earning mobile app on record in 2024. TikTok's revenue was primarily driven by the purchase of coins for creator gifts among users in the U.S. and China.
