One Louisiana pollster predicts a big surprise in the race for president

The great majority of polls taking the pulse of the race for U.S. president between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump show a close battle, expected to come down to the wire. But one Louisiana pollster sees things differently, showing a trend toward Harris surging to victory.

"This election could be shaping up to be a blowout, and it’s time to focus on the actual data — not just what we’re being told,” Vantage Data House out of Shreveport concluded in an analysis released this week.

The Livingston Parish library system has been under scrutiny in recent months, as some parents and parish officials are concerned the library is placing inappropriate books in the children's sections. However, library staffers and supporters say those critics are trying to censor LGBTQ content.

Now, the Parish Council has voted to remove yet another member of the Library Board of Control, the fourth in the past few months.

Last week's LSU win at Arkansas was big. Columnist Scott Rabalais says the No. 8 Tigers' game today at No. 14 Texas A&M is even bigger, with the winner standing as the last undefeated team in SEC play.

It's also a chance for the LSU defense to show the progress it has made in becoming the kind a unit a national championship contender needs.
