What You Need to Know About the July Forecast
 
The possibility of a hot summer has been a topic of discussion for months. Now that July is here, and the market is focused on the forecast, it’s been extremely wet. One ag meteorologist says the July forecast looks fairly favorable for much of the Midwest.
 
 
 

Portions of Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska are grappling with the aftermath of flooding, while continuing to fight a swollen river. The Mississippi River is facing flood threats, too. Crop consultant Michael Cordonnier believes harvested acres will be 90.3% to 90.7% of plantings this year, down from an average of 91.3%.
